Pugs originated in Asia before 400 BC. The Pug was a pet at Tibetan monasteries and later
traveled to Japan. The Pug then came to Europe, where the endearing little dog was the pet
of royalty in several countries. It became a fashion adornment of the European Courts in the
16th century, reaching its popularity peak in Victorian times.
The Pug has a square, thick, stocky compact, body, with a sleek, soft coat that comes in
apricot, fawn, black and silver with a short, flat, black muzzle and velvety rose-shaped ears.
The eyes are large, dark and expressive. The teeth should meet in a slightly undershot bite.
Their tail is tightly curled. Their legs are short and straight. They walk with a bulldog waddle.
A Pug is perky, effervescent, loyal, and affectionate with a happy disposition. They are
playful, charming and clever with a great personality. Highly intelligent, it gets easily bored
with the wrong training. Pugs are sensitive to the tone of your voice, so harsh scolding is
unnecessary. IKC gives exactly the correct training for Pugs. They are good watchdogs, very
devoted and don't yap. Pugs get along well with other dogs and pets, and they behave
perfectly with children and visitors. They require a lot of attention. They are good
watchdogs and can be taught tricks. A Pug named Frank starred in the Men In Black movies.
The Pug is good for an apartment. It is relatively inactive indoors and will be fine without a
yard. Cannot withstand hot or cold weather and should be kept indoors at a comfortable
temperature. Pugs are stressed by hot and cold weather. So keep them cool in summer and
warm with our doggy clothing in winter. They are a very easy-care dog but do not overfeed.
They enjoy energetic games and will stay healthy with regular light exercise.
The Pug's smooth, short-haired coat is easy to groom with a firm bristle brush. Shampoo only
when necessary, dry quickly and thoroughly. The folds on the face must be cleaned regularly.
We have 1 location in East Meadow, Long Island which is located in the NY (Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island), New Jersey NJ, Connecticut CT area.
