The Chihuahua is a tiny toy dog with round head and a short pointed muzzle. Chihuahuas
come from Chihuahua, Mexico. They have round, large, very dark eyes, and large pointy ears.
Besides the common short-haired variety there is also a long-haired type. Colors include
fawn, sand, chestnut, silver and steel blue, black & tan and parti-color. The Chihuahua is
more hearty than it looks. They are great little dogs for apartments but still enjoy their walks
using a tiny harness.
The Chihuahua makes a great companion. Courageous, extremely lively, proud and alert, it
gives and demands affection. Chihuahua's are strong-willed, intensely loyal and become very
demonstrative. When strangers are present, it follows its owner's every move, keeping as
close as possible. They are intelligent, learn quickly, and respond well to proper, gentle
positive reinforcement. It is so small that many train the dog use indoor litter pans.
The short-haired Chihuahua is a very easy care dog, just wipe with a damp cloth. The
long-haired Chihuahua needs grooming like any other dog. We offer a full service grooming
center and these dogs loved to be pampered.
